Campaigning against Female Genital Mutilation program

This program is dedicated to eradicating Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), a harmful cultural practice that affects the physical and emotional well-being of countless girls and women.

By volunteering in this program, you will join efforts to raise awareness, advocate for change, and promote alternative rites of 

 passage.

Volunteers collaborate with community leaders, health professionals, and local organizations to protect and empower girls and women.

Program Objectives

  • To educate communities about the harmful effects of FGM on physical and emotional health.
  • To raise awareness and advocate for the eradication of FGM through campaigns and education.
  • To promote and implement alternative rites of passage as culturally sensitive replacements for FGM.
  • To empower girls and women to advocate for their rights and well-being.
  • To foster collaboration with local leaders, healthcare providers, and organizations.
  • To create a supportive environment where girls can thrive without fear of harmful practices.
  • To encourage cross-cultural understanding and global solidarity in combating FGM.

Volunteer Responsibilites

  • Assisting in organizing and conducting community awareness campaigns on FGM.
  • Educating families and community members about the physical and psychological impacts of FGM.
  • Collaborating with local leaders and health professionals to promote alternative rites of passage.
  • Participating in workshops and training sessions for girls and women on their rights.

  • Engaging in outreach programs to reach remote areas where FGM is prevalent.

Program Duration
